Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care/Telemetry position requiring tele-oncology, cardiac, and vent/transplant experience at a Level I/II trauma academic medical center.
Details
- Work in the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit (D6/5) and IMC Thoracic unit (B4/3)
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
- Every other weekend required, with mandatory coverage on 12/24 and 12/25
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WI RN or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
- Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Ventilator and transplant experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall score
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and ventilated patient care
- Experience with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
- Previous travel RN experience required
Additional Information
- Provide care for cardiac, oncology, and thoracic telemetry patients in a high-acuity stepdown environment
- Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response coordination
- Includes post-transplant patient care
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Facility is a Magnet-designated academic medical center ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital
- Parking permit required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available
