Job Description & Requirements

Required Experience
- Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience
- Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
- Post-cardiac procedural care experience, including:
- Cardiac ablations
- Cardiac catheterizations
- Post-op Day 1 open-heart surgery
- Permanent pacemaker placements
- Experience administering and titrating IV medications, including:
- Insulin
- Cardizem
- Cardene
- Amiodarone
Required Certifications
- BLS – Basic Life Support
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- NIHSS – NIH Stroke Scale
Clinical Skills & Procedures
- Cardiac and telemetry monitoring
- EKG interpretation
- IV insertions
- Nasogastric tube (NGT) placement and maintenance
- Chest tube maintenance
- Temporary pacemaker management
- Foley catheter insertion
- Post-cardiac procedure monitoring and care
Scheduling & Other Requirements
- Must work full-time hours, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.
- Floating required to areas where the nurse has demonstrated competency.
- Scrubs: Navy blue; black scrub pants may be worn with a navy-blue top.
- Must demonstrate strong patient communication, responsiveness, and patient advocacy.
Important Points
This is a high-acuity cardiac telemetry position. Candidates need more than general Med-Surg telemetry experience; the facility specifically requires post-cardiac procedural care and IV medication titration skills.
Before submission, verify: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, cardiac/PCU/ICU experience, post-procedure experience, and competency with the listed IV medications.
