Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience and an IN or compact RN license.
Details
- Med-Surg Telemetry unit with 24 beds
- 6:1 patient ratio
- Mixed diagnosis patient population
- EMR: Epic
- Uses IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer equipment
- Skills needed include trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac management, and dialysis assessment
- RN reads telemetry, no titration required
- Support staff includes CRN, discharge nurse, and weekday pharmacists
- Night shift, 18:45-07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provides patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor
- Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts
- Complies with regulatory standards and unit practice governance model
