Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 24-bed Med-Surg Tele unit requiring 2 years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a 24-bed Med-Surg Tele unit
  • Mixed diagnosis patient population with a 6:1 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a, three days per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
  • Unit supported by CRN and discharge nurse, with weekday pharmacist coverage
  • Equipment used includes IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac, and dialysis assessment

Additional Information

  • Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient plans of care
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and may serve as a mentor/preceptor
  • Facilitates patient and family education throughout the stay and at discharge
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and utilizes organizational resources appropriately
