Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Med-Surg/PCU mix unit requiring 2 years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a 5A-5H Med-Surg/PCU mix unit with 9-14 beds
  • Mixed acuity patient population with general med/surg diagnoses
  • Patient ratio of 4-5:1
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am, 3 days per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • RN reads telemetry and titrates limited medications such as heparin

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills in EKG, trach care, PCA, wound vac, and feeding tubes required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation of clinical interventions
  • Provides patient and family education specific to care needs and discharge planning
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
  • Works within a collaborative team with helpful peers
  • No local rate drop for this position
