Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on a fast-paced cardiac unit requiring 2 years of acute care RN experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

  • Work on a 59-bed Cardiac Tele/Mixed Acuity unit (5E/5W)
  • Patient ratio of 4-6:1
  • Fast-paced cardiac focus with diagnostic procedures including cath and stress tests
  • Medication administration including milrinone, dobutamine, heparin, and amiodarone
  • RN reads telemetry and titrates medications
  • Uses dynamaps and telemetry monitors
  • EMR system: Epic
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a, three days per week
  • Required to work every other weekend

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
  • Minimum two years of acute care inpatient RN experience
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care
  • Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff while mentoring and precepting team members
  • Facilitate patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
  • Participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives under a Practice Governance framework
  • Local candidates accepted at standard rate
