Job Details:
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 48 hours per week approved
• Position may float between units to meet unit needs
• At least 1 year of telemetry experience required
• Neurology experience not required but must be willing to work on a heavy neurology unit and be willing to learn
• Must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient at caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various other neurology diagnoses
• Block schedules not required
• Charting system: Epic (required, hard stop)
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• No parking fee
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and houses a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center. The neuroscience unit specializes in neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient care with a daily census of 48 patients and 64 beds. Interpretation services are available to support interdisciplinary patient care.
