Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Post Acute Neuro unit requiring 2 years of acute care RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Hospital-based Post Acute Neuro unit with 30 beds
  • Patient population includes neurology and oncology diagnoses
  • Patient ratio of 5:1
  • RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
  • Administers medications including BP meds, heparin, pain management, and chemo (certified staff only)
  • Uses equipment such as IV pumps, PCA pumps, dynamaps, and feeding pumps
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45pm to 7:15am
  • Works three 12-hour shifts per week totaling 36 hours
  • Every other weekend required
  • No 48-hour work weeks

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for neuro and oncology patients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and patient families to support individualized care needs
  • Deliver patient and family education specific to care, treatment, and discharge planning
  • Mentor and precept staff while fostering strong teamwork and leadership within the unit
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and non-licensed personnel
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
  • Comply with regulatory standards and practice governance model
