Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry unit of a Short Term Acute Care, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
  • Cares for a Tele/Step-Down patient population with cardiac drips and EKG monitoring needs
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active MO or Compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
  • Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required (dedicated PCU experience not required)
  • EKG interpretation and cardiac drip management skills required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy
  • Skills utilized may include central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC), wound care, and management of pacemakers and cardiac drips
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
  • No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
  • Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are not specified as accepted for this position
