Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry/Step-Down unit of a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MO or compact, not tied to another compact state)
  • Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required (dedicated PCU experience not required)
  • EKG interpretation and cardiac drip management experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and care, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
  • Perform IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
  • Support respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and chest tube management
  • Care for pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery patients
  • Manage pacemakers (temporary/permanent) and TR Band care
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
  • No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
  • Standard travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
  • Former BJC or Saint Luke's permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
