Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry for a Med-Surg Tele unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a 24-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit
  • Patient ratio of 6:1
  • Mixed diagnoses patient population
  • RN reads telemetry, no titration required
  • CRN and discharge nurse on staff, with weekday pharmacist support
  • Uses IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer equipment
  • Day shift schedule, 6:45am-7:15pm, every other weekend required
  • 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or compact)
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient telemetry RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Skilled in trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac, and dialysis assessment

Additional Information

  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients
  • Provides patient and family education specific to care, treatment, and discharge needs
  • Supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff, functioning as mentor/preceptor
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
  • Complies with regulatory standards and organizational practice governance model
  • No local rate drop applies to this position
