Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry with a minimum of 1 year of recent telemetry experience and active PA or Compact RN license required.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) schedules available
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care preferred
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and thrombolytic agents
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with pacemakers, post cardiac catheterization, and pre/post cardiac surgery care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide care to telemetry patients including cardiac, oncology, neurological, and orthopedic populations
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though the same schedule cannot be guaranteed
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Demographic sheet must be submitted within 48 hours of signing
• Pre-start compliance modules (approximately 1 hour) must be completed before entering the facility
