Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with prior travel nursing experience and pre cardiac cath/port management skills for a night shift assignment supporting ED boarders and observation units.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Supports ED boarders (patients awaiting inpatient beds) as well as Observation/MS/MS Tele units as needed
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period
• Potential to float between two campuses and to Observation, MS, and MS Tele units
• Epic EMR used, experience required
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with pre cardiac cath and managing ports required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration required
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and oxygen administration required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code teams required
• At least 2 supervisory references required
• COVID vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
• Manage patients with wound care needs, IV insulin protocols, and post-MI or pre/post cardiac cath care
• Care for patients with renal, endocrine, and gastrointestinal conditions as part of unit responsibilities
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted
• Natural, unpolished-length fingernails required (under 1/4 inch) for direct patient care
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
• No cafeteria on-site, though refrigerator and microwave are available
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• No RTO permitted from 12/15/2026 through 1/5/2027
• Strict no-call policy in place
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
• Returning staff must be separated from full-time, part-time, or per diem employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers must complete a 90-day system break after 1 year on assignment before returning
• Applicants currently in process for or having applied to a permanent role with the health system within the past 6 months are not eligible
