Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience and expertise in pre-cardiac cath and port management.

Details

• Telemetry unit setting supporting cardiac, neuro stepdown, and MS/tele patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period
• Potential to float between two campuses and to Observation, MS, and MS Tele units as needed
• Supports ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient beds, floating to observation units when boarder volume is low
• EPIC charting system experience required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath care required
• Experience accessing and managing ports required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• COVID and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Manage respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
• Support isolation precautions, wound care, and IV insulin protocols
• Only one holiday may be requested off for RTO; holiday coverage otherwise expected
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Scrubs must be navy blue with no agency or brand logos
• Fingernails must be natural, less than 1/4 inch, with polish permitted
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
• No cafeteria on-site, though refrigerator and microwave are provided
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Previously employed staff must be separated from full-time, part-time, or per diem roles for at least one year before returning as a traveler
