- **Documentation System:** Meditech
- **Scheduling Requirements:** Must work full-time hours, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.
- **Floating Policy:** Contract Nurses can be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency.
**Patient Experience Expectations:**
- Treat every patient with courtesy and respect.
- Be responsive to call lights, using patients' preferred names.
- Make personal connections and involve patients in bedside shift reports.
- Teach patients how to use the phone to call nurses directly.
- Always ask if there is anything else you can do before leaving the room.
**Requested Skill Set:**
- Must have prior experience in Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU.
- Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips is essential.
**Advanced Skills Required:**
- Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements).
- Competency in administering and titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
**Procedures Performed on Unit:**
- IV Insertions
- NGT Placement and Maintenance
- Chest Tube Maintenance
- Temporary Pacemaker Management
- Foley Insertions
**Certifications Required:**
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
**Dress Code:**
- Navy Blue Scrubs
- May wear black scrub pants with Navy Blue top
