Key Responsibilities

  • Float across multiple inpatient facilities within the region, covering Medical/Surgical units and Emergency Department hold areas based on staffing needs
  • Manage a patient population that includes post-op, orthopedic, neurological, oncology, telemetry, and medical patients, as well as ED holds including CVA/TIA, chest pain, CHF, and abdominal pain
  • Titrate drips independently, including cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, heparin, and insulin drips
  • Read and interpret telemetry strips independently without reliance on monitor technicians
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (ED holds) and 1:5 (Medical/Surgical)
  • Receive unit and facility assignments via app approximately one hour before shift start; be prepared for mid-shift floats to different units or facilities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license applicable to the state of Idaho
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical and/or Telemetry specialty
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and interpret telemetry independently

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin drip management
  • Prior ED holds experience strongly preferred
  • Comfort working in a high-volume float pool environment across multiple facilities and unit types
