Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring Epic experience and skills in pre cardiac cath and port management.

Details

  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
  • Weekend requirement of 4 shifts (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) within a 6-week period, along with 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays
  • Supports ED boarders awaiting inpatient beds across the system
  • May float to Observation Units, MS, and MS/Tele units as needed
  • Potential to float between Edgewood and Florence campuses
  • Patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • EPIC charting system experience required
  • Strict no-call policy in place

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Experience with pre cardiac cath and managing ports required
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and interpretation of ABGs
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code teams
  • Experience with heparin protocols and IV insulin protocols
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
  • At least 2 supervisory references required

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry-level nursing care for cardiac, neurological, and medical-surgical patient populations
  • Support ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient care across the health system
  • COVID vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required
  • Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted
  • No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted; natural fingernails required under 1/4 inch in length, polish acceptable
  • Local candidates within 75 miles accepted
  • Must be away from full-time, part-time, or per diem employment with the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • After 1 year on assignment, a 90-day system break is required before returning as a traveler
  • Cannot have applied for or been in process for a permanent role with the health system within the past 6 months
  • Only one holiday may be requested off; holiday coverage expected
  • Any RTO requests must be included in the initial submission
