Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position requiring stroke/neuro experience and passing an EKG proficiency test.

Details

  • Hospital telemetry unit setting
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts
  • 13-week contract length
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • First to float, as needed, to like units within the health system
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association preferred, American Red Cross accepted for BLS)
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Must pass EKG test with 80% or higher score prior to consideration
  • Must pass an on-site EKG test on first day of orientation
  • 2 years of stroke/neuro experience required
  • 2+ years of experience preferred; travel experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
  • New graduates will not be considered
  • 2 current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge in the relevant specialty area, within the last year
  • At least one travel reference preferred

Additional Information

  • Orientation held every Monday with 16 hours of non-billable orientation time
  • On-site EKG test administered on day one, with a study guide provided in advance
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated for 12 months before being submitted as a traveler
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days permitted for 13-week contracts
  • Facility conducts a brief 10-15 minute interview prior to placement
