Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Level 1 Trauma hospital, requiring two years of recent telemetry experience and an active FL or compact RN license.

Details

  • Telemetry unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with every other weekend required
  • Floating to other telemetry floors required as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Two years of recent telemetry experience required
  • Two years of consecutive recent acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution required
  • Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac drip management (no titration), respiratory and airway management, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Must work 23 major holidays (eve and day), no block scheduling requests accepted
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG assessment prior to starting, with a retake available within 24 hours if needed
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius accepted at a lower rate
  • Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
