Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in an inpatient rehabilitation unit, requiring NC or compact RN license and EPIC experience.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation department within a hospital setting
• Specialized care for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility
• Patient population includes post-stroke, post-aneurysm, and post-op surgical rehabilitation cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every third weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required across all Cone Health campuses as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation
• Proficient in dressing changes, sterile procedure tray setup, phlebotomy, specimen labeling, and vital signs assessment
• Experience with medication reconciliation, lab result interpretation, and patient health history intake
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG competency exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required to verify residential address

Additional Information

• Provide specialized rehabilitative nursing care to patients recovering from neurological events and major surgeries
• Perform telephone triage and manage pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
