Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift Medical Telemetry Oncology unit position requiring a WA or compact RN license and cardiac drip titration experience.

Details

• Medical Telemetry Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Cardiac interventional procedures including TAVR, Mitral Clips, Watchman, Lead Extraction, TR Bands, complex PCI Angiogram, and pre-open heart care
• Manages dysrhythmias and cardiac drips with limited titration under a Nurse Telemetry Driven Protocol to support patient throughput
• Chemotherapy infusions administered on unit
• Hemodialysis performed in-room by NWKC RN
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of specialty (telemetry) experience required; 2-3 years overall experience preferred
• Proficient in telemetry management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac drip titration
• Trauma Level I and Level II hospital experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Oncology nursing experience is a plus
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care coordination, IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care are part of daily responsibilities
• Chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and management of oncologic emergencies (e.g., ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis) are key duties
• Wound care, chest tube management, and isolation/neutropenic precautions may be required
• Patient and family education/support is expected
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
• Travel pairs are accepted
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, all requests must be disclosed prior to consideration
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire
• No block schedule requests accommodated
