Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Tele RN for a night shift position requiring at least one year of recent acute med/surg experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • 3 East Ortho/Overflow Neuro unit within a hospital setting
  • 22-bed unit with staffing of 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, and 0-2 sitters on days, and 4 RNs with 1-2 PCAs and 0-2 sitters on nights
  • Patient population includes med/surg, ortho, and neuro overflow patients such as CVA and TIA cases
  • Maximum patient ratio of 6:1
  • Uses standard equipment and Meditech EMR
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 13-week assignment
  • Floating required to other med/surg units

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license
  • At least 1 year of recent acute med/surg experience within the last year
  • Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
  • Neuro or ortho experience preferred, med/surg/telemetry background acceptable
  • Proficiency in standard nursing skills including IV insertion, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, continuous bladder irrigation, and NGT insertion/maintenance
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
