The role requires ensuring patient safety and quality care while collaborating with the healthcare team and floating between different campuses as needed.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour days, shifts from 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS required.
  • Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license, current BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS certification, and the ability to interpret EKG strips independently. Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience preferred, with a minimum of 1 year of confident and comfortable experience with neuro and cardiac patients; experience with tele monitoring is preferred. RN must have EPIC experience and pass the Basic Dysrhythmia exam with three attempts.
  • Additional Information: Must be willing to float between Bryan and College Station campuses; will work on monitor units, with the ability to read and interpret strips. Candidates must be comfortable with set-rate drips such as Cardizem, Dobutamine, and Amiodarone, following step-by-step protocols.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Responsibilities include providing patient care, interpreting telemetry strips, managing titratable drips, and following protocols for cardiac and neuro patients.
