Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring TX or compact RN license and Epic charting experience.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital environment with 36 rooms/beds
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, block schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Floating required to units of equal acuity
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Travel experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry remote monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, and CVA patient populations required

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Care for patients with cardiovascular, genitourinary/renal, gastrointestinal, and neurological/psychiatric conditions
  • Complete core onboarding items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Complete non-billable onboarding modules onsite during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Candidates residing in certain nearby Texas counties are not accepted for this position
  • Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All RTO must be listed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
