Join our team as a Travel RN specializing in Telemetry at a leading healthcare facility in Alexandria, LA. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cardiac and telemetry patients in a dynamic environment. We are seeking a dedicated nurse who is willing to float and provide quality care to our patients.

Type of Patients: Cardiac and Telemetry (not a Stepdown unit)

Shift: Days, 07:00-19:00 (12 hours)

Start: 10/05/2026

Duration: 13 weeks

Pay Rate: $90 per hour

Required Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • BLS certification via AHA required
  • ACLS certification via AHA required
  • RN License in state of employment or compact

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

On Call Requirement: No call

Nurse/Patient Ratio: 5:1-6:1 depending on staffing

EMR Used: EPIC

Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs

Summary: The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
  • Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
  • Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
  • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • BLS required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • RN License in state of employment or compact

Position Requirements:

  • All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
  • New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a MedSurg specific competency validation.
  • All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation.
  • Skills completion and competency completion will be achieved with the preceptor at the bedside and documented through the program's tracking software.
  • Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

Work Schedule: 7AM - 7PM

Work Type: Full Time

Comments: Type of patients on the unit: Cardiac and Telemetry (not a Stepdown unit). Temp to perm is a possibility.
