Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Renal unit position requiring NIH Stroke Certification and recent telemetry/renal experience.

Details

  • Work in an 18-bed Renal Medicine unit on the 4th floor of the main campus
  • Day shift staffed with 1 Charge RN, 4 floor nurses, 1 HUC, and 1 CNA; night shift staffed with 1 Charge RN, 4 floor nurses, and 1 HUC/CNA
  • RN patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6, CNA ratios range from 1:9 to 1:18
  • Utilizes mobilization and lift equipment, peritoneal dialysis cyclers, and scales
  • Documents in Cerner EMR
  • Shift runs 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • Weekends and holidays rotate
  • May float to like units or be utilized as a sitter when needed

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • PCT certificate required
  • NIH Stroke Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • 1 year of recent experience in Renal/Telemetry specialty required
  • BSN preferred
  • Certified peritoneal dialysis nurse preferred
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to renal medicine patients, including those receiving peritoneal dialysis
  • Must demonstrate a flexible, compassionate, and adaptable personality suited to a changing unit environment
  • RN scrub color is navy blue
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures for unit guidelines
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
