Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of recent acute med/surg experience.

Details

• Med/Surg-Telemetry unit with 8 inpatient beds plus 8 admission unit beds, occasionally flexing up to 12 based on hospital census
• Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 PCA per shift
• Maximum patient ratio of 6:1
• Standard unit equipment used
• Meditech EMR
• 13-week assignment, night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Rotating weekend coverage typically required, adjusted as needed for travel RNs
• Floating required to other Med/Surg units

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute med/surg experience within the last year required
• Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
• Standard nursing skills required: IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, and EHR documentation
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to Med/Surg patient population
• Collaborate with a team-based unit focused on friendly, positive, patient-centered care
• Scrubs required per unit dress code
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Ortho or neuro-surgery background preferred, though Med/Surg/Telemetry experience is acceptable
