    Description

    Job Title: Director of Facilities Profession: Management Specialty: Director, Director of Operations Duration: Full-Time Shift: Varies Hours per Shift: N/A Experience: Minimum of 5 years Description: We are seeking a full-time Director of Facilities. This position is responsible for managing and leading all functions related to Plant Operations, Environmental Services, and Grounds. A successful candidate will preferably have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. The Director will have a minimum of 5 years of personnel management experience. Candidates should possess thorough knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC, and general building maintenance. Knowledge of autoclaving, bio-waste management, life safety codes, construction phasing, and environmental services operations is also required. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to systematically apply engineering principles and detect and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems. Primary Duties Include: Direct and indirect supervision of approximately 45 full-time employees across Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental Services. Carrying out Director-level responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Setting clear expectations for staff by developing job-specific customer service standards and training plans. Addressing and following up on customer and employee concerns promptly and professionally. Directing maintenance activities on utility systems to ensure a continuous supply of essential services required for facility operations. Inspecting machines and equipment to conform to operational standards and ensuring preventative maintenance occurs on all systems as scheduled. Ensuring compliance by outside contractors with all regulatory agencies and applicable policies and procedures. Acting as a liaison with other departments to assess their needs and developing action plans accordingly. Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and local building and safety codes.
