Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and OK or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 4W Surgical/Transplant unit that is a mixed stepdown and acute care floor
• Cares for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients as well as pre-transplant patients being evaluated for transplant during inpatient stay
• Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
• Nurses may be assigned to either med/surg or stepdown patients depending on staffing needs
• Days shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• This is not a PACU position and OR candidates will not be accepted

Requirements

• Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Transplant, ENT, preceptor, and charge experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and patient responses
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Administers medication and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge information
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
• Facility enforces strict compliance and credentialing deadlines with no allowance for start date pushes
• Returning workers limited to one extension up to a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
