Job Summary:
Operating Room (First Assistant) professional in a clinical setting. This role involves assisting in complex surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), valve replacements, and vein harvesting, with a focus on cardiovascular, neuro, and orthopedic surgeries. The position requires involvement in assisting with vein harvesting for coronary bypass procedures, on and off pump CABG surgeries, VATs, and other advanced surgical interventions. The facility accepts first-time travelers for this assignment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday with a rotating day off, 10-hour shift hours, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and NBSTSA (National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting), at least 1 year of experience, valid state or compact license in hand at the time of submittal, 50-mile radius rule with no local candidates, and scrubbing experience in cardiovascular procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with vascular, neuro, neuro/spine, bariatrics, ENT, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, femoral popliteal bypass graft, robotic-assisted gynecological procedures, vaginial hysterectomy.
- Additional Information: The candidate must be proficient in assisting with a variety of surgeries including abdominal, cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, and vascular procedures. Prior experience with vein harvesting for CABG, operating room equipment such as the Davinci XI Robotics and other surgical tools is required. Orientation includes 20 hours of onsite training, with core labs completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
