Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Specialty Open Heart in Reston. This position involves supporting the surgical team in cardiac procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), mitral valve replacements (MVR), tricuspid valve replacements (TVR), aortic valve replacements (AVR), vascular surgeries, and other advanced cardiac operations. The role requires proactive teamwork, sterile technique expertise, and the ability to handle complex procedures within a fast-paced surgical environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week, from 10/12/2026 to 01/11/2027
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred; CPR or BLS certification; related experience in operating room cardiovascular (OR OH) setting; no minimum years of experience required; located within commuting distance to the hospital
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with open heart surgery procedures, including scrub or circulate procedures; proficiency in room setup, room turnover, sterile technique, central line setup, arterial line setup, Belmont system operation, and cell saver setup; teamwork and proactive planning skills
- Additional Information: Support includes managing equipment such as Belmont monitors, ESU, positioning equipment, and assisting with complex procedures. Flexibility to float to main operating rooms is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, provider relations, and a team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
