Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician in Farmington, Connecticut. This position involves working in the Central Sterile Supply department, responsible for decontaminating, processing, assembling, sterilizing, and storing surgical instrumentation and medical equipment. The role includes assembling case carts for surgical procedures, working across multiple sterile processing areas, and rotating through different departments within the facility.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour evening shifts starting at 3:00 PM, with weekends and on-call as needed, including minor holidays.
- Required Qualifications: 4-5 years of hospital experience in sterilization, decontamination, processing, assembly, storage, and distribution of surgical instrumentation, supplies, devices, and equipment. Capable of operating Olympus OER washers. Certification as CR-CST or CBSPD required. Must be able to identify instruments and work while standing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is preferred.
- Additional Information: The position requires mandatory emergency staffing and overtime rotation. The candidate may be floated or reassigned within 30 miles of the original assignment based on clinical competence. Vaccinations for COVID-19 and influenza are required unless medically or religiously declined. The role involves work in a hospital setting with EMR system EPIC.
