Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) position provides essential support within the sterile processing department, facilitating the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment. Responsible for ensuring that all reusable instruments and equipment meet quality and safety standards, this role collaborates closely with the operating room team to meet their instrument turnover needs. The position involves performing delegated activities under the supervision of departmental leaders, supporting both clinical and operational functions within the hospital environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 13-week assignment, 40 hours per week
• Positions:
  • Mon-Fri 0645-1515
  • Sun-Thurs 2245-0715
  • Mon-Fri 1445-2315
• Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service with Central Service Technician certification
  • Central Service Technician certification required within one year of hire
  • Minimum of one (1) year of instrumentation experience
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting
  • Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service
