Key Responsibilities
- Provide surgical technologist support within a busy surgical services department operating up to 8 rooms with a daily census of approximately 25
- Scrub in on a variety of surgical cases, ensuring proper instrumentation, supplies, and sterile field maintenance throughout procedures
- Participate in call rotation as required by the unit
- Float to other areas or sister facilities as needed to meet operational demands
- Adhere to weekend scheduling requirements per the needs of the unit
- Commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of surgical technologist experience required; 5 or more years strongly preferred
- Valid state surgical technologist license or certification required; California license preferred
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending California license may be accepted
- Must submit 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
- Must not have background or Nursys hits, per facility policy
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a standard traveler; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a modified rate
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of surgical technologist experience in an acute care setting
- Prior experience working within a multi-room, high-volume surgical services environment
- Familiarity with call requirements and ability to float between departments or nearby facilities
