Key Responsibilities

• Function as an integral member of the surgical team, providing technical support to surgeons, RNs, and anesthesia providers in the operating room
• Arrange supplies and instruments, maintain accurate counts, and pass instruments and sterile supplies to the surgeon during procedures
• Assist with application of dressings and preparation and preservation of surgical specimens for testing
• Operate sterilizers and perform validation and verification tests for surgical instrument sterilization in the Sterile Processing area
• Clean, decontaminate, and inspect surgical instruments before and after cases to ensure proper sterility and working condition
• Maintain adequate supply levels by checking for outdates, restocking the operating room, and ordering necessary supplies

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• Minimum of 5 years of current experience as a Surgical Technician
• Orthopedic surgical experience required
• Must be registered as a Surgical Technician with the State of Colorado
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of aseptic principles and sterile technique

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a broad range of surgical specialties beyond orthopedics
• Familiarity with sterile processing workflows and sterilization equipment
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and adapt quickly in high-stress environments
