Description:
High school diploma or comparable education and training is required.
Current certification is needed as a first assistant, surgical assistant, or assistant in surgery by one of the following:
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Assisting
- National Surgical Assistant Association
- American Board of Surgical Assistants
- National Assistant at Surgery Council
Current certification in Basic Life Support at the Healthcare Professional Level is mandatory.
Prior First Assistant/Surgical Assistant experience is preferred.
