Contract (12 Weeks) | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM | On-Call Required
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions prior to procedures
- Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during surgical procedures
- Simultaneously manage the sterile field and surgical specimens throughout procedures
- Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects
- Respond to on-call requirements as needed outside of standard scheduled hours
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Must not be local to the facility — local candidates will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a fast-paced acute care or hospital-based operating room environment
- Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties and procedures
- Strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously within the sterile field
