Key Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technician

• Prepare and care for pre-operative patients, maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
• Set up operating room tables, instruments, and supplies according to case type.
• Assist the physician by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields.
• Use physician preference cards to set up the OR for surgeries.
• Monitor and control the surgical environment, adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
• Perform assigned patient care tasks to meet the specific needs of patients.

Requirements of the Certified Surgical Technician

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of accredited Surgical Technology or LVN/LPN program required
• Minimum two years of experience preferred
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required
