Key Responsibilities
Assist surgical teams in the operating room during obstetric (OB) procedures and cesarean sections
Prepare and maintain a sterile field, including the setup of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to procedures
Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during OB surgical cases
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care throughout procedures
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation in accordance with facility protocols
Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps in compliance with safety standards
Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or required per facility credentialing standards
Experience in OB or Labor & Delivery surgical settings
Current BLS/CPR certification
Ability to work night shifts on a per diem basis
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience scrubbing OB cases, including cesarean sections
Familiarity with OB-specific surgical instruments and equipment
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
