Guaranteed hours: 36. Description: This position is for a Travel-Certified Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. Work schedule is from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, three times per week. Weekend call rotation occurs every four weeks. Call shifts may vary from 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours. Every attempt is made to not schedule more than 60 hours of work and call combined in a week. The unit cares for high acuity patients with various procedures. Typical procedures include burn care, dental restorations, and ear, nose, and throat surgeries. Gastroenterology procedures such as EGD and colonoscopy are performed. General surgeries and gynecological procedures, including hysterectomies, are part of the specialty. Neurosurgical procedures such as spinal fusions and craniotomies are also handled. Open heart surgeries, orthopedic trauma, and plastic surgeries are included in the scope. Robotic surgeries and urological procedures also take place in this setting. There is also a focus on trauma surgeries including damage control resuscitation.
