Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Scrub and assist across a high-volume OR environment handling approximately 70-85 cases per day across 28 operating rooms
  • Support a broad range of service lines including Orthopedics (total joints), General Surgery, Robotics, Organ Transplant (kidney), ENT, Oral/Maxillofacial, Vascular/Thoracic, Urology, and Pediatrics
  • Participate in team self-scheduling, including an expected 2-3 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per 6-week schedule period
  • Fulfill call obligations of approximately 3-4 weekday and 3-4 weekend call shifts (4-hour call blocks) per 6-week schedule
  • Rotate through holiday and night shifts as needed by the unit, including at least one holiday per schedule period
  • Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and case management
Required Qualifications
  • BLS certification required - must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Virginia Surgical Technologist Registration required at time of submittal
  • Minimum 2 years of OR Surgical Tech experience
  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
  • Must have completed at least 1-2 prior travel assignments - this cannot be a first travel assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Neonate and pediatric surgical experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with robotic-assisted surgical cases
  • Familiarity with organ transplant and vascular/thoracic service lines
