Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Technician Specialty: Operating Room Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8.0 Experience: - Minimum of 2 years as a Surgical Technician - Minimum of 1 year travel/temp experience - Required experience in ortho, neuro/ortho spine, general/robotics, urology/gyn, and vascular License: - National Surgical Technician Certification (preferred) Certifications: - Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association is required Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician School or an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing Description: The Surgical Technician provides surgical support under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor. They provide the Surgeon with necessary instrumentation. The Surgical Technician acts as a liaison between the Physician, patient, and family. They collaborate with other healthcare members and assist in the orientation process of new personnel. This position includes responsibilities for call coverage, attendance at team meetings, and assisting with general surgery as needed. They may participate in other interdisciplinary or departmental committees.
