Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures within the operating suite
• Prepare the surgical operating suite with sterile drapes, sterile solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies
• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients prior to procedures
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout all procedures
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Required Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month (30 days) of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• Surgical Tech credential from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) OR the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required prior to hire date
• High School diploma or equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, OR an Associate's or Technical degree, OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in an acute care or hospital setting
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties and procedures
