Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum of 3 years preferred 5 License: CA state license preferred, pending license accepted Certifications: BLS, CST, NBSTSA Must-Have: - Experience in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Robotics, and Trauma - Travel experience required - Previous charge experience Description: Start date: ASAP First time traveler: No Daily census: 25 patients with 8 operating rooms Weekend requirements: As needed by the unit On-call duty: Required Float: Required Charting system experience preferred Skills required include: - Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair - Abdominal hysterectomy - ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion) - Amputations - Anterior cervical fusion - Appendectomy - Arthroscopy - Aseptic technique - Breast augmentation - Carotid Endarterectomy - Cholecystectomy - Colon resection (Open/LAP) - Craniotomy - Endoscopic sinus procedures - Femoral popliteal bypass graft - General OR - Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical) - Kidney procedures - Laminectomy/discectomy - Laparoscopic procedures - Nephrectomy - Prostatectomy - Radical neck dissection - Suture removal - Total hip replacement - Total knee replacement - Trauma - Ureteroscopy - Vaginal hysterectomy Additional requirements include experience with case cart management, crash cart, and essential surgical equipment. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities as required. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. The position may require coverage of night shifts as needed. All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission. References required covering experience within the last 3 years.
