Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for each surgical case by accurately checking required supplies and equipment prior to the procedure
  • Assemble and set up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization
  • Pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases while maintaining aseptic technique
  • Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standards
  • Label solutions, clean equipment and facilities, and perform housekeeping duties as requested
  • Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities, and provide clerical duties as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
  • Minimum of two years of recent surgical technologist experience
  • Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including total joint/trauma, neuro spine, vascular, and robotics
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Associate's or Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Formal operating room training course or program completion
