    Travel CVOR Surgical Tech – First Assist / Vein Harvester

    Contract (Travel) | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 10-Hour Shifts | 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM | Rotating weeknight and weekend call required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Function as a licensed First Assistant in the operating room across a variety of surgical specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery
    • Perform vein harvesting procedures in support of cardiovascular surgical cases
    • Assist with complex procedures including craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, Whipple, and MAKO total joint replacement
    • Operate and assist with da Vinci robotic surgical system cases
    • Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio within a 10-main OR environment alongside a circulator and scrub tech per room
    • Document accurately using the Meditech documentation system
    Required Qualifications
    • Active First Assistant licensure with the Virginia Board of Medicine — must be licensed in VA prior to start
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech / First Assist
    • Proficiency in orthopedic surgery, ortho trauma, da Vinci robotic surgery, and neurosurgery
    • Experience with MAKO robotic total joint procedures
    • Ability to rotate call on weeknights and weekends as scheduled
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with complex general surgery procedures including Whipple and liver resection
    • Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation systems
    • Prior travel assignment experience in a high-volume OR setting
