Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a first assistant during surgical procedures, providing direct support to the operating surgeon
• Assist with tissue handling, retraction, hemostasis, and wound closure as directed by the surgeon
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical cases
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency
• Document and communicate relevant intraoperative findings or concerns appropriately

Required Qualifications

• Active CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) certification required
• Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential or equivalent surgical technology background
• Active BLS certification required
• Prior experience functioning in a first assist role in an operative setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and sterile technique
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced surgical environment
