Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Call rotation required (approximately 2 call shifts per week, including weekday nights and weekends)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a surgical first assist in a 16-room operating room department performing a broad range of surgical procedures excluding transplant and cardiac surgery
- Function within a 1:1 patient ratio model alongside RN and surgical assistant teammates per OR room
- Operate and assist with advanced surgical equipment including robotics, neurosurgery, general, plastics, urology, and orthopedic instrumentation
- Document and manage patient information using the Meditech EMR system
- Participate in call rotation averaging approximately 2 call shifts per week, covering weekday nights and weekend primary and backup call
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia surgical technologist license required
- Robotic surgical experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
- Orthopedic surgical experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
- Neuro/spine surgical experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CST/First Assist
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience across a broad range of surgical specialties including general, plastics, and urology
- Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced OR environment
- Familiarity with Meditech or comparable surgical EMR platforms
