Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a surgical first assistant in OR and vascular procedures
- Provide intraoperative support including tissue handling, hemostasis, and wound closure under the direction of the surgeon
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control and surgical safety protocols
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation prior to surgical procedures
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care throughout all phases of the procedure
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- First Assist certification or demonstrated first assist training required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CST with first assist responsibilities
- Experience in OR and vascular surgical settings
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel assignment experience in a surgical or vascular setting
- Familiarity with a high-volume OR environment
- Strong ability to adapt quickly to new facility protocols and surgical teams
