Prepares and positions patients for surgery. Harvests surgical grafts and performs closure of incisions. Applies various wound dressings. Works under direct supervision or within defined parameters. Performs pre-and postoperative activities to facilitate optimal patient care. Verifies availability of surgical equipment and supplies. Prepares and maintains the operating room environment according to the surgical procedure. Obtains and reviews diagnostic studies for reference. Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving. Coordinates and participates in draping of the patient. Verifies operative consent and other pertinent information. Elevates questions, problems, and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction. Reviews patient medical charts and associated documentation. Makes decisions regarding routine matters with minimal independent judgment. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
